I purchased my first pair of Golden Goose sneakers a few months ago (and shared them first in this post!), and have been asked a lot about them ever since. So many that I decided it was finally time to do a full write-up! Are they true to size?

I found them to fit true to size, at least for me.

Since they keep their shape and they don’t come in half sizes, I’d choose the larger option.

Is the comfort worth it?

They only needed minimal break-in time..

How durable are they?

They look worn from the start, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over the city, and they’ve held up beautifully. Nothing has torn, and the leather hasn’t stretched. Since the aesthetic is distressed, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.

How are they vs. other brands?

Nothing else compares in comfort or quality. I love my Vejas and Tretorns, but Golden Goose still come out on top. They have a hidden arch lift that adds a little height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re crafted individually, so each pair is one of a kind. And the shine on mine? Absolutely gorgeous.

Would you buy again?

Totally! Just try not to pay full price. They’re expensive, so getting them on sale is smarter. I’d pay several hundred for the quality, especially if you get a pair you love. I chose a loud pair, but a low-key version would also look great.

How does the sizing run?

They ran true to size for me — I usually wear a size 6, and I went with a European 36. They haven’t stretched noticeably, so if you’re in the middle, I’d go up a size

Is the comfort worth it?

They felt good almost immediately. I recommend wearing no-shows, especially since they help with airflow. High-end Italian leather construction, so it’s much more comfortable than breaking in synthetic materials. Also, they’re already softened so your feet just slide in.

How durable are they?

Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about getting them dirty. I’ve worn them all over the city, and they’ve held up beautifully. The laces are intact, and the leather hasn’t stretched.

Thanks to the vintage look, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.
